ArkOS v2.0 Installation and Setup Guide – R36S Game Console
Here is a step-by-step guide to installing ArkOS on your R36S Game Console :
Step 1: Download ArkOS Image

Download Image:

Download the SD card image (in .xz format) appropriate for your R36s Game Console device.

Step 2: Extract the Image File

Use a Compression Tool:

Windows: Use 7Zip.

Mac: Use The Unarchiver.

Extract the .xz File:
-
Extract the downloaded .xz file to get the .img file. The extracted file will be around 8GB in size.

Step 3: Format MicroSD Card (Recommended)

Use sdcard.org Formatter:

Download and use the sdcard.org formatting tool to format your microSD card .

Step 4: Upload Image to MicroSD Card

Select an Installation Software:

Windows: Use Rufus or Win32DiskImager.

Mac: Use ApplePiBaker.

Note: Balena Etcher can be used as an alternative, but some issues may occur.

Upload .img File:
-
Burn the .img file to the microSD card using the selected software. A 16GB card is recommended for a dual card installation. Use a 128GB or larger card for a single card installation.

Step 5: Insert MicroSD Card

Remove and Insert Card:

Once the burning process is complete, remove the microSD card from your computer and insert it into the SD1/TF1 slot on your device.

Step 6: First Startup

Turn on the device:

When the device starts, it will automatically resize the partitions. After the startup, the ArkOS logo should appear.

Step 7: Switch to SD2 (For Dual Card Setup)

Insert Second MicroSD Card:

For a dual-card setup, insert a blank microSD card into the second slot.

Switch to SD2 for ROMs:

In the ArkOS interface, go to Options > Advanced > Switch to SD2 for ROMs . This will populate both cards with the correct ROM folders. Both cards need to be initialized for this setup.

Extra Information for R36S Game Console

Community Maintained Image:

it is recommended to install the Community Maintained Image that has been previously updated with the latest ArkOS version.

Alternative: RG351MP ArkOS Version:

Download the RG351MP installation file and the appropriate dtb files.

After you have uploaded the image to your SD card, go to the "BOOT" section and replace the existing files with the downloaded ones.

Insert the card into your device and perform the first boot.
